The main objective of the visit was to assess the progress made in the implementation of the Committee’s recommendations following the previous visits. In this context, the delegation paid particular attention to the treatment and safeguards afforded to persons deprived of their liberty by the police and examined the conditions of detention in three prisons for adult prisoners. It also carried out a targeted follow-up visit to a juvenile prison. In addition, the delegation visited two psychiatric establishments and two temporary placement centres for persons with disabilities.

The main findings and conclusions of the CPT are set out in the executive summary of the report.

The report has been made public under the automatic publication procedure introduced by the Moldovan authorities.
