The Council of Europe in cooperation with the Justice Academy and Academy for Public Safety organised a two-day peer-to-peer training on “Investigation, prosecution and adjudication of financing of terrorism” which took place on 7 - 8 April 2022 within the framework of the joint European Union and Council of Europe “Project against Economic Crime in Kosovo” (PECK III).

The aim of the training was to support the future local trainers of both Academies to conduct training to their peers by providing them an opportunity to practice the knowledge and skills acquired through the training-of-trainers programme and to receive the feedback on their performance.

Relevant beneficiary authorities represented by judges, prosecutors, law enforcement, lecturers and Financial Intelligence Unit staff learned the multiple aspects related to terrorism financing including investigating, prosecuting and adjudicating terrorism-related cases by capturing the financing of terrorism, good European practices in investigating such cases, the use of criminal justice, regulatory or other tools to disrupt terrorist financing activities, building up evidence, application of freezing, seizure and confiscation, available instruments for international cooperation as well as applicability of indirect evidence.

The activity was organised within the framework of the joint “Project against Economic Crime in Kosovo” (PECK III) funded by the European Union and the Council of Europe and implemented by the latter in cooperation with the Justice Academy of Kosovo.
