As part of its activities under the Project “Combating money laundering and terrorist financing in Georgia” the Council of Europe, in cooperation with the Ministry of Finance of Georgia, organized a one-day Conference on Combating money laundering and terrorist financing on 25 September 2015 in Tbilisi. The Conference focused on discussion of national risk assessments and the role of supervisory bodies in implementation of anti-money laundering/counter terrorist financing legislation, gathering numerous national and international experts in the field. Mr Nodar Khaduri, Minister of Finance of Georgia, opened the Conference, alongside Council of Europe and European Union officials. The Council of Europe Economic Crime and Cooperation Unit used this event to launch its Project on Combating Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing in Georgia.
