On 29 September the Council of Europe and the European Union will launch the implementation of the project “Controlling Corruption through Law Enforcement and Prevention, CLEP”. The initiative will be implemented over a 3 year period until May 2020. The project intends to improve the regulatory framework on anti-corruption and anti-money laundering, build technical capacities of relevant institutions, closely work on the establishment of the Assets Recovery Office and enhance inter-agency and international cooperation. In addition, work is planned in the area of civil society participation and investigative journalism.
The launching event will include the participation of representatives of the EU, the Ministry of Justice, the General Prosecutor’s Office, the National Anti-Corruption Centre as well the Council of Europe and its Group of States against Corruption (GRECO).
