PECK III Project continues its support to AML/CFT authorities in Kosovo through development of effective and sustainable capacities for preventing and suppressing money laundering and terrorist financing.

In this respect and in order to address the findings and recommendations of the AML/CFT Assessment of 2018 in respect to the strategic analysis, PECK III Project supported the FIU with building a Strategic Analysis Unit and capacity building of the staff therein. In view of this, Guidelines for Strategic Analysis were developed and shared with the FIU in order to enable them to reach requirements set under Criteria 29.4 of the FATF Methodology requiring FIU to conduct strategic analysis in respect of money laundering and terrorism.

In addition to the Guidelines, four training webinars took place on 15, 17, 23 and 25 March 2021 in which the FIU staff were trained on the practical aspects of conducting strategic analysis.

This activity is carried as part of synergies between EU/CoE Joint Project against Economic Crime (PECK III) and UNDP/Support to Anti-Corruption Efforts (SAEK).
