A delegation from the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe carried out a monitoring visit in Ukraine on 23 November 2021 in order to update the report on the application of the European Charter of Local Self-Government.
The delegation led by Ms Gunn Marit Helgesen (Norway, EPP/CCE) held meetings with the Minister of Community and territorial development, Oleksiy Chernyshov, and the Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Chairman of the Presidium of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities under the President of Ukraine, Andriy Yermak.
The delegation also met Presidents of the Ukrainian Associations of local and regional authorities, members of the national delegation of Ukraine to the Congress, as well as the Chairman of the Public Association “Institute European Sloboda”.
The report will be debated for adoption at the Congress Session in March 2022.
