Against the background of the devolution process under way in several southern Mediterranean countries, and ahead of the local elections in Tunisia in March 2018, Xavier CADORET, Vice-President of the Congress and alternate Spokesperson on the South-Med Partnership, reported to the Bureau of the Euro Mediterranean Local and Regional Assembly (ARLEM), on 24 October in Brussels, on the Congress’s activities in monitoring local and regional elections and supporting the electoral process. On the same day, he also attended discussions on the reports on the emancipation of women in the Mediterranean region and on combating radicalisation and violent extremism among young people, at the meeting of ARLEM’s Commission for Sustainable Territorial Development.
