The first workshop of French local authorities participating in the European Alliance of Cities and Regions for Roma Inclusion will be held on 13 February 2014 at the Council of Europe Office in Paris. Participants will be informed of the activities of the Alliance since it was launched in March 2013 and discuss its future action plan to be implemented in coordination with the ROMED2 and ROMACT programmes of the Council of Europe. They will also identify the needs and expectations of the participating local authorities, and will discuss their practices with regard to projects promoting Roma inclusion with a view to develop the exchange of know-how and experience. A meeting with French NGOs active on Roma issues will also take place. The French local authorities participating in the Alliance are so far: Aubervilliers, the Department of Val de Marne, Lille, Lyon, Paris and Strasbourg.
