Congress co-operation activities: over 1,000 local elected representatives involved

The activities implemented by the Congress to strengthen local elected representatives’ institutional and leadership capacities were the focus for discussions during the meeting organised on 16 October 2017 with representatives of Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, the Republic of Moldova, Ukraine and Belarus. The participants highlighted the added value of the Congress and shared their ideas and needs in view of the future contributions to the local dimension in the Council of Europe Action Plans for the respective countries. It is, as underlined by Andreas KIEFER, Secretary General of the Congress, this continuous dialogue and “close links with delegations and national associations that are a key ingredient to the success of Congress co-operation activities”.
