On 30 and 31 January 2023, representatives of youth, minority, and national minority youth organisations from across Europe will meet online with the CDADI Secretariat and an external consultant to give their opinion on the draft CM Recommendation on the active political participation of national minority youth.
The draft CM Recommendation builds upon the Study on the active political participation of national minority youth in Council of Europe member States, adopted by the CDADI in June 2021. This study also benefited from focus group consultations with representatives of young people belonging to national minorities. This process aims to better understand the challenges and good practices in the field of participation of national minority youth in political processes, and to ensure that they have a stake in the drafting of the recommendation and that their voice is heard.
This recommendation will provide non-binding guidance for member states and other key stakeholders to ensure that young persons belonging to national minorities are able to take part in, influence, and shape public and political life.
