The Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights, Thomas Hammarberg, held a meeting with the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, in Baku on Tuesday. They discussed the functioning of the system of justice and the situation of the media and individual journalists. The Commissioner will conclude his mission to Azerbaijan on Friday and will issue a report with his recommendations later in the Spring.
