Back 1321st meeting of the Ministers' Deputies (4 July 2018)

At their meeting on 4 July, the Ministers' Deputies approved the Council of Europe Counter-Terrorism Strategy (2018-2022), which is based on prevention, prosecution and protection, including assistance to victims (more information ...).

The Deputies adopted a recommendation to member States on Guidelines for member States to respect, protect and fulfil the rights of the child in the digital environment, which builds on international and European legal instruments to provide comprehensive guidelines for action by European governments (more information ...).

They also adopted the following texts:

The Deputies decided to open for signature the Protocol amending the Convention for the Protection of Individuals with regard to Automatic Processing of Personal Data, on 10 October 2018, in Strasbourg.

Recalling the Committee of Ministers’ statement of 2014 on the prohibition of any form of commercialisation of human organs, the Deputies welcomed the position statement of the European Committee on Organ Transplantation on the Concept of Global Kidney Exchange. They also took note of the Guide for the implementation of the principle of prohibition of financial gain with respect to the human body and its parts from living or deceased donors.

Finally, they held an exchange of views with Ms Liliane Maury Pasquier, President of the Parliamentary Assembly, on the outcome of the Assembly's third part-session (25-29 June 2018) and its forthcoming activities.
