Safer Internet Day

On 9 February 2021 the Safer Internet Day is celebrated in order to raise awareness on online safety issues and to inspire changes and positive behaviours on internet.

The Safer Internet Day aims to create both a safer and a better internet, where everyone could use it responsibly, respectfully, critically and creatively. It aims to reach out to children and young people, parents and carers, teachers, educators and social workers, as well as industry, decision makers and politicians, to encourage everyone to play their part in creating a better internet.

On the occasion of Safer internet Day, the International Centre “La Strada” launched an awareness raising campaign for parents on online risks for children under the grant agreement with the Council of Europe Project Combating violence against children in the Republic of Moldova. The campaign will be implemented in February and numerous informative activities for parents will be organised. The aim of activities is to make aware the parents on online risks for children and modalities to prevent them, as well as the intervention measures to be undertaken in cases of online child sexual abuse or exploitation.

Activities implemented within the grant agreement with the International Centre “La Strada” contribute towards achieving the Project’s immediate outcome 1 “Increased awareness on child sexual abuse and exploitation and the rights of the child in the digital environment”.
