The Council of Europe project "Supporting the implementation of the Istanbul Convention in the Republic of Moldova" in pertnership with the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection convened on 4 November 2022 the national working groups on the implementation of the Prosecution and Integrate policies pillars of the Council of Europe Convention for preventing and combating violence against women and domestic violence (Istanbul Convention).
The working groups on the first two pillars of the Convention – Prevention and Protection were convened on October 28.
The main goal of these meetings is for the members of the working groups to analyse the state of play of the implementation of Istanbul Convention, including by looking at existing gaps, barriers challenges.
Articles 33 to 57 of the Istanbul Convention related to the Prosecution pillar, as well as Articles 7 to 11 related to the Integrated Policies pillar were analysed during the meetings on 4 November through the lens of changes needed in the legal framework but also at the level of practical measures in line with the Istanbul Convention Explanatory Report.
The members of the working groups agreed to follow-up with concrete and targeted inputs to improve the analysis and will propose the next steps to advance with the implementation of the Istanbul Convention.
