The Republic of Moldova celebrates European values

The Council of Europe Office in Chisinau is participating in the European Day festivities in the central park Stefan cel Mare in Chisinau. Organised by the Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Moldova, the European Village aims to bring European values closer to the citizens of the Republic of Moldova.

This year, the Council of Europe project on Protecting children from sexual exploitation and sexual abuse in the Republic of Moldova is reaching out especially to children and their families to mark both the 30th anniversary of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child as well as the 70th anniversary of the Council of Europe. A wealth of awareness-raising materials and games will be distributed and organised to promote the rights of the child for the Moldovan public. Information on the cooperation and assistance of the Council of Europe to the Republic of Moldova will also be shared at the event.

Europe Day was first celebrated in the Republic of Moldova in 2006 and as of 2009, the European Union Delegation to the Republic of Moldova invites the general public to join celebrations in a grand event.
