International conference “Immigration Detention of Children: Coming To A Close?”

The conference, which took place in Prague on 25-26 September and hosted by Czech Chairmanship of the Committee of Ministers, served as a unique opportunity to exchange know-how in a number of key areas including existing international human rights standards, views and approaches of regional and universal monitoring, judicial and quasi-judicial bodies, current actions promoting an end to the immigration detention of children, efforts in implementing effective alternatives to immigration detention, and other relevant experiences from the field in safeguarding the best interests of the child.
