Secretary General Jagland on official visit to Denmark

The Secretary General of the Council of Europe, Thorbjørn Jagland, made an official visit to Denmark on 3 November where he met the Prime Minister, Lars Løkke Rasmussen, the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Anders Samuelsen, the Minister for Justice Søren Pape Poulsen and the Minister for Equal Opportunities, Karen Ellemann.

He also had a meeting with the Speaker of the Danish Parliament, Pia Kjærsgaard, the Danish delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, The Foreign Affairs Committee and The Foreign Policy Committee of the Danish Parliament.

Secretary General Jagland, Prime Minister Løkke Rasmussen and Minister for Foreign Affairs Samuelsen gave a joint press conference on Friday 3 November at 1:40 pm at the Prime Minister’s Office, Hall of Mirror, Prins Jørgens Gård 11, DK-1218 Copenhagen K.

The visit took place in the context of the upcoming Danish Chairmanship of the Committee of Ministers.
