The CEPEJ supports Tunisia in improving the functioning, performance and access to justice

A team of CEPEJ experts is organising a first meeting with pilot courts on 17 June in Tunis with a view to further consolidating the use of CEPEJ tools, and considering potential cooperation activities. These CEPEJ tools are aiming at improving efficiency and quality of justice and daily functioning of courts, some of which had already been tested or implemented in selected Tunisian courts under previous cooperation programmes between Tunisia, the EU and the CEPEJ. Alongside this meeting, the first Steering Committee of the new programme will also be held, bringing together national representatives of the institutions involved in the programme, as well as representatives of the Council of Europe and the European Union.

These meetings are held within the framework of the joint programme "Improving the functioning, performance and access to justice in Tunisia" (AP-JUST), funded by the European Union and the Council of Europe and implemented by the Council of Europe.
