The European Committee on Legal Co-operation (CDCJ) issued its report on the review it carried out with respect to the implementation of the Council of Europe Plan of Action on Strengthening Judicial Independence and Impartiality (“Sofia Action Plan”) by Council of Europe member states.

It also includes information on identified trends in legal developments and practice since 2016, as well as factors affective the effective implementation of European standards.

The European Committee on Legal Co-operation will continue to follow-up on the actions set out in the Sofia Action Plan, in line with the decisions taken at its 99th plenary meeting (23-25 November 2022).
