The implementation of the integrity plans adopted in 2016 by the Judicial and Prosecutorial Councils of Montenegro was discussed by members of the two Councils and representatives of the Agency for the prevention of corruption. A platform for the discussion and the exchange of information was offered by the two training sessions which took place on 28 and 29 September 2017 in Podgorica.

Integrity managers of the Judicial and Prosecutorial Councils presented the Integrity plans of both institutions and the main findings from the annual report on their implementation. The representatives of the Agency for the prevention of corruption presented the findings on areas of specific risks for corruption in judiciary and prosecution. They also provided practical examples of possible corruptive activities which can happen in courts and prosecutor’s offices. Risks of corruption and tackling issues likely to be considered in the upcoming compliance report of GRECO for Montenegro triggered discussions.

The training sessions were organised by the Council of Europe Programme Office in Podgorica, within the framework of the “Accountability of the Judicial System” an action that is co-funded by the European Union and the Council of Europe as part of the programmatic framework “Horizontal Facility for the Western Balkans and Turkey.
