On 18 October, the Office received a delegation from the Republic of Peru composed by Mr Mirtha Vasquez (Lawyer, former acting president of the Congress and Member of Congress, former Prime Minister), Mr Diego García-Sayán (Lawyer, former President of the Inter-American Court of Human Rights, former Foreign Affairs Minister of Peru) and Mr Jennie Dador (Lawyer and gender equality expert, Managing Director of the National Human Rights Co-ordination Peru).

The Council of Europe's Human Rights protection system was presented to the guests, and participants expressed optimism about Peru's potential accession to certain Council of Europe Conventions.
