More than 80 judges, prosecutors and lawyers from 11 EU Member States will meet for a seminar on bioethics and the launch of the HELP course on “Key Human Rights Principles in Biomedicine” to be held on 7-8 March 2019 in Strasbourg, France.

Organised under the EU-Council of Europe "HELP in the EU" project, the seminar will include sessions on the relevant case-law of the European Court of Human Rights, the Council of Europe framework related to bioethics, as well as on current challenges. The participants will get familiarised with the HELP Programme and the Council of Europe HELP e-learning platform containing more than 30 online courses on human rights.

The HELP course on “Key Human Rights Principles in Biomedicine” has been developed jointly by the HELP Programme and the Bioethics Unit of the Council of Europe.

Legal and medical professionals will be able to access the course in the self-learning part of the HELP online platform in English. Versions of the course in French, German, Italian, Romanian and Spanish will be launched soon.
