On 10 and 11 September the Bureau to the Standing Committee to the Convention gathered in Strasbourg for its second meeting this year. The Bureau ensured the follow-up of the decisions taken at last Standing Committee meeting and reviewed progress made by the different Convention’s groups of experts. On the agenda, among many others, were the launching of the Scoreboard on illegal killing of birds, the reporting under Resolution No. 8 (2012), the results of the 2018 meeting of the Large Carnivores Initiative for Europe and the progress in the development of a pan-European Action Plan for the conservation of the sturgeon. The Bureau also assessed the numerous pending case-files and complaints submitted by citizens and NGOs.
