STOA Flagship Event: Policy options for the ethical governance of disruptive technologies

The Panel for the Future of Science and Technology (STOA) is organising an online event “Policy options for the ethical governance of disruptive technologies”, on 23 March 2021 at 13:00.

This online event will seek to identify which issues and challenges of AI need particular attention and ways to address them. During the event, three major EU projects SIENNA, SHERPA and PANELFIT, that represent a ten million euro investment in research from the European Commission to develop governance structures sensitive to ethical and human rights concerns of emerging technologies, will share their findings and provide the context for a debate on the topic.

Mr Jan Kleijssen, the Director of Information Society and Action against Crime Directorate will represent the Council of Europe at the Panel III: Beyond AI - Ethics and human rights implications of emerging technologies.
