The text represents the most comprehensive and up-to-date guidance on how to ensure Remembrance of the Holocaust at a time when there are fewer and fewer survivors to bear direct witness. The Recommendation reflects a strong commitment by the Council of Europe to promote continued Remembrance in education and history teaching in Europe. Lastly, Remembrance remains key aspect of the fight against rising antisemitism and to protect Jewish life in Europe.
