Czech Republic becomes 47th party to the Anti-Trafficking Convention

On 29 March 2017 the Czech Republic ratified the Convention on Action against Trafficking in Human Beings. The Convention will enter into force as regards the Czech Republic on 1 July 2017.

The Convention has now been ratified by 46 Council of Europe member States: Albania, Andorra, Armenia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Georgia, Greece, Germany, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Republic of Moldova, Monaco, Montenegro, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, San Marino, Serbia, Slovak Republic, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, “the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia”, Turkey, Ukraine and the United Kingdom.

Further, Belarus acceded to the Convention on 26 November 2013, thus becoming the first country outside the Council of Europe to join the Convention.
