The EU-CoE Joint Project on ‘Supporting the Effective Implementation of Turkish Constitutional Court Judgments in the Field of Fundamental Rights’ held its 2nd Steering Committee Meeting

The 2nd Steering Committee Meeting of the European Union-Council of Europe Joint Project on “Supporting the Effective Implementation of Turkish Constitutional Court Judgments in the Field of Fundamental Rights” was held online on 26 May 2022. Cristian Urse, Head of the Ankara Programme Office of the Council of Europe, Murat Şen, General Secretary of the Turkish Constitutional Court and Maria Stogova, Program Manager from the Delegation of the European Union to Turkey addressed the meeting, which continued with presentation of the Inception Report by Project Coordinator Könül Gasimova.

General information on the implementation of the activities carried between 27 January – 26 May 2022 (such as the organisation of regional roundtable meetings in various regions, namely İstanbul, Ankara and Gaziantep, 1 peer-to-peer roundtable meeting organized in Ankara with the participation of lawyers from the ECtHR Registry, university lecture given at Gaziantep University, elaboration of a report on gender mainstreaming, development of an IT platform and data collection mechanism)was provided by Project Manager Çağlar Kıran. Planned activities for the upcoming period were also presented.

 

The Joint Project on “Supporting the Effective Implementation of Turkish Constitutional Court Judgments in the Field of Fundamental Rights” is co-funded by the European Union and the Council of Europe and implemented by the Council of Europe. The Turkish Constitutional Court is the end beneficiary of the Project.
