Fourth Online HELP Kick-off Meeting

Presentation of three HELP courses: Procedural Safeguards in Criminal Proceedings and Victims’ Rights, Reasoning of Criminal Judgements and Alternative Measures

The fourth HELP Kick-off Meeting was held online on 14 January 2022 to announce the launching of the tutored HELP Courses on Procedural safeguards in criminal proceedings and victims’ rights; Reasoning of criminal judgements; Alternative measures to detention, which are translated into Turkish and adapted within the scope of the project.

The kick-off meeting was held with the participation of the HELP representative, HELP Tutors from the Justice Academy, in addition to the course participants.

Judges and prosecutors from different provinces of Turkey attended the presentations by HELP tutors. Participants will enrol to the three tutored HELP courses, which will continue to be implemented for a duration of one month. The online HELP courses are expected to attract the interest of an increased number of legal professionals, who would increase their knowledge and skills in the respective fields with a view to applying them in their daily judicial work.

This online meeting was organised under the EU/CoE Joint Project “Strengthening the Criminal Justice System and the Capacity of Justice Professionals on Prevention of the European Convention on Human Rights Violations in Turkey”.
