The 1st Management Meeting of the EU/Council of Europe Joint Project on “Improving International Judicial Cooperation in Criminal Matters in Turkey” was held

The 1st Management Meeting of the European Union/Council of Europe Joint Project on ‘’Improving International Judicial Cooperation in Criminal Matters in Turkey” took place online on 9 September 2021.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the Directorate General for Foreign Relations and EU Affairs of the Ministry of Justice, the Council of Europe, the Delegation of the European Union to Turkey and the Central Finance and Contracts Unit.

The meeting began with the opening remarks delivered by Mr Mustafa Ferati, Head of Economic Crime and Cooperation Division of the Council of Europe, Mr Mustafa Tayyip Çiçek, Deputy Director General of Foreign Relations and European Union Affairs at the Ministry of Justice and Ms Pınar Başpınar, Head of Operations of the Council of Europe Programme Office in Ankara.

The objective of the meeting was to update project stakeholders about the status of project implementation, progress made with preparation of activities and the current state of play. In the meeting participants discussed planning and prioritisation of activities pursuant to the workplan, finalisation and submission of the Inception Report and organisation of the project’s Launching Conference. Project stakeholders expressed their continued commitment and support to the practical implementation of activities.

The Project “Improving International Judicial Cooperation in Criminal Matters in Turkey” is co-funded by the European Union and the Council of Europe and implemented by the Council of Europe.
