Finland: Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe launching event

On 24th April, the Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe Programme was officially presented at the occasion of the Seminar on “Cultural routes network – Cultural routes as international content for tourism” in Jyväskylä, Finland. Marianne Berger-Marjanovic, newly elected Chair of the Enlarged Partial Agreement on Cultural Routes, and Stefano Dominioni, Executive Secretary, delivered keynote speeches on the occasion.

The aim of this important appointment was to mark the accession of Finland to the EPA and to highlight the potential for developing Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe in Finland as a tool for regional development. Opportunities for cultural development and tourism in the framework of the European Year of Cultural Heritage were also presented.

Among the speakers, Ramón Montes, General Manager of the European Prehistoric Rock Art Trail, presented the potential for expansion of this Cultural Route in Finland.
