Ukraine: the Minister of Culture welcomes a conference on Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe

On 12th April 2018, the Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe programme was presented at the occasion of the International Seminar “Cultural Heritage as Resource for Development: Opportunities within European Programs” in Kharkiv, Ukraine.

The event was held in presence of the Minister of Culture of Ukraine, Yevhen Nyschuk, the First Deputy Ministry of Culture of Ukraine, Svitlana Fomenko, the Kharkiv Regional State Administration, the Kharkiv City Council along with Council of Europe and European Union delegates. Representatives of certified Cultural Routes attended as well, including Via Regia, Prehistoric Rock Art trails, Atrium and the European Route of Jewish Heritage.

On this opportunity, Mr. Alfredas Jomantas, Chair of the Governing board of the EPA on Cultural Routes presented the Programme, stressing the relevance of the Enlarged Partial Agreement and Mr. Stefano Dominioni, EPA Executive Secretary highlighted the involvement of Ukraine in many Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe.

This International Seminar was an excellent opportunity to reflect on the potential of the Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe as tools to promote the transnational dimension of European heritage, cultural co-operation and tourism, and to provide access to Europe’s multifaceted culture.
