Secretary General warns over new wave of discrimination against Roma

Geneva, 26 February 2013 – In his speech to the UN Human Rights Council, Secretary General Thorbjørn Jagland expressed concern over the rise of anti-Gypsyism and racial violence towards Roma in Europe, and stressed the need for effective integration policies. “We need to change attitudes among the non- Roma population,” he added.
