Strasbourg, 01.06.2012 - Secretary General Thorbjørn Jagland will pay an official visit to Latvia from 3 to 5 June. In Riga, he will meet the President of the Republic of Latvia Andris Bērziņš, Prime Minister Valdis Dombrovskis, President of the Saeima (Latvian Parliament) Mrs Solvita Āboltiņa, Foreign Minister Edgars Rinkēvičs, as well as members of the Latvian delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly.

Topics on the agenda include reform of the Council of Europe, minority rights and the situation in the region.

Mr Jagland will hold a joint press briefing with Foreign Minister Edgars Rinkēvičs, Monday 4 June at 12.40 in the Parliament. (more...)
