Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, the President of the Parliamentary Assembly, has responded to today’s bombing in the Turkish capital with the following statement:
“I am shocked by the news of today’s bomb explosion in Ankara, in which – according to initial reports – three people have died and several people have been injured as a result of this act of violence. My thoughts are with them and their families.
Only two weeks ago, on the tenth anniversary of 9/11, I and other Council of Europe leaders spoke of our determination to combat terrorism in all its forms, above all by standing firmly for the values we believe in.
<span style="font-size: 9pt;>Today, I resolutely reiterate my condemnation of terrorism in any form and underline that our determination to combat it has become stronger than ever.”
