Secretary General of the Council of Europe, Thorbjørn Jagland met today with Russian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sergei Lavrov in Moscow to discuss current political issues. Addressing the ongoing negotiations on the EU accession to the European Convention on Human Rights, Jagland underlined the historical importance of bringing together under the same system of legally binding standards and under the same Court all major powers in Europe.
