
In its first general report, published today, the Group of Experts on Action against Trafficking in Human Beings (GRETA) takes stock of the first two and a half years of its existence and reflects on the challenges that lie ahead.
GRETA is responsible for monitoring the implementation of the Council of Europe Convention on Action against Trafficking in Human Beings, in force in 34 countries in Europe. Between September 2010 and June 2011, GRETA evaluated the first ten countries which became Parties to the Convention (Albania, Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Denmark, Georgia, Moldova, Romania and the Slovak Republic). The first three evaluation reports adopted by GRETA, concerning Cyprus, Austria and the Slovak Republic, will be made public in the course of September 2011. (more...)
