A delegation of the Committee of Experts visited Germany from 28 March - 1 April 2022 to evaluate progress made in the protection and promotion of regional and minority languages. It held meetings with the representatives of the regional or minority languages speakers and of the authorities in Hamburg, Saterland, Hannover, Bautzen/Budyšin and Berlin. This is the seventh monitoring visit of the Committee to Germany. Following this visit, the Committee will draw up its evaluation report on the implementation of the Language Charter in Germany containing specific findings and recommendations for follow-up. The report is expected to be published in 2022.
