This is an area where the North-South Centre is cooperating closely with the Tunisian Quadrilogue (government, parliament, local and regional authorities and civil society). Last July, in Tunis, the North-South Centre organised  an Istanbul Convention training seminar on combating violence against women, clearly supporting this process in Tunisia, an important member of the North-South Centre.

The decision of the representatives of the Tunisian People also shows their commitment to respect and promote human rights and consolidate the democratic process in the country. That is also why the Executive Commmitee of the North-South Centre of the Council of Europe, decided to award Ms Mbarka Brahmi (in the picture), member of the Tunisian parliament, with the North-South Prize 2016.
