Achieving gender equality is a transversal policy and an objective that will only be achieved through the active involvement of all fields of policy and legal activity and of all levels of society. Many sectors of the Council of Europe, but also all member states, have websites dedicated to gender equality. In the same way, most regional and international organisations have either dedicated agencies (such as UN Women or the European Institute for Gender Equality) or specific websites on women’s rights and gender equality. Thousands of non-governemental organisations, especially women’s organisations, work towards the realisation of gender equality at all levels.
