The EYF (Re)Mix seminar was held at the European Youth Centre in Strasbourg from 1 to 4 March 2016. The fourth seminar organised by the EYF gathered representatives of both local and international youth NGOs registered with the Foundation.

Since the introduction of various changes in 2013 such as the new grant categories, new online application and reporting system and new website, the EYF has been addressing the need to present and explain these modifications, to evaluate and receive feedback and further strengthen the partnership with youth NGOs. Since 2013, three seminars have been implemented: (Re)Loaded in 2013, (R)Evolution in 2014 and (RE)Generation in 2015.

In 2016, the EYF sought to evaluate the period 2013-2015 along with youth NGOs, further adjust possible issues, answer questions, clarify misunderstandings and generally reinforce the relationship with NGOs and the way of working together.

The annual work plan category (open to international NGOs) and the concept of “innovation” (specific to pilot activity grants and available to local youth NGOs) were part of the changes, and needed to be reviewed with international and local NGO representatives. Consequently, 20 activists from international NGOs and 20 from local NGOs were invited to attend the EYF (Re)Mix seminar.

As a result of the 3 day and a half meeting, the EYF:

  • received feedback and shared information on EYF’s regulations, application/reporting system, website;
  • created a mutual understanding regarding grant categories (annual work plans and pilot activities);
  • gained awareness about the context in which NGOs work and the needs that they address with EYF support;
  • revitalized transparency and accountability between EYF and youth NGOs;
  • encouraged networking between representatives of local and international NGOs;
  • shared best practices;
