On 29 November 2016, the PRECOP II project held its 1st Steering Committee meeting at the headquarters of the Council of Europe in Strasbourg with the aim to discuss and agree on the project implementation modalities.

The meeting was moderated by the Head of the Action against Crime Department and addressed by the Director General of Human Rights and Rule of Law, the Permanent Representatives of the United Kingdom and the Russian Federation to the Council of Europe, the Head of the Secretariat of the Office of the Federal Ombudsman for the Protection of the Rights of Entrepreneurs and the Head of the Council of Europe Programme Office in the Russian Federation. All speakers reiterated the importance of the project and expressed strong support for its successful implementation.

The Steering Committee discussed and adopted its Terms of Reference and the workplan of activities. In addition, the general cooperation activities between the Council of Europe and the Russian Federation were presented to the participants.
