MOTIVATION

Dear colleagues,

I should like to become more closely involved in the work of our Conference and am asking you to place your trust in me with this candidature. In addition to the dynamism and pragmatism which you are entitled to expect, I should like to contribute a point of view that has been missing in recent years, namely that of parents’ organisations.

As Vice-President of the EPA, which has member NGOs in 25 countries, I represent parents from different territories and regions who are more worried than ever about the difficulties concerning their children’s development and self-fulfilment and the uncertainties surrounding their integration into working life and as citizens.

In the course of my various duties, I have met policymakers and leaders from the education and sports sectors. This has given me experience of human and organisational problems, which I believe could be useful to the committee. Not to mention my multicultural background, my multidisciplinary training as a jurist and linguist (specialising in mediation) and my keenness for teamwork. I would like to do whatever I can to help implement a perhaps more modern approach to our work, based on openness, innovation and adaptability.

Our children’s education is our key investment for a better future. We must ensure that it develops properly in a world which sometimes lacks dialogue and balance and where there is a need for greater collaboration and listening skills.
