Proposed list of members - MSI-RIU
Dear CDMSI Bureau members,
After examining the proposals for members of the Committee of Experts on Rights of Internet Users (MC-RIU), and taking into account the views of bureau members in particular the need for geographical balance, professional competence and gender balance, the Secretariat would like to propose the composition as follows:
Member states:
- Eva Kushova (Albania)
- Michael Kogler (Austria)
- Nelly Stoyanova (Bulgaria)
- Hasan Ali Erdem (Turkey)
- Alexander Borisov (Russian Federation)
- Johan Hallenbourg (Sweden)
- Thomas Schneider (Switzerland)
Independent experts:
- Meryem Marzouki (France, EDRi)
- Wolfgang Benedek (Austria, University of Graz)
- Rikke Frank Jorgensen (Denmark, Danish Institute for Human Rights)
- Yaman Akdeniz (Turkey, Istanbul Bilgi University)
- Dixie Hawtin, (UK, Global Partners)
- Francisco Teixeira da Mota (Portugal)
Other factors were also taken consideration such as the inclusion of new CDMSI members, the profiles of candidates and their potential to outreach/mobilise different communities and other groups in the work of the Committee.
Looking forward to finalising the composition with you next week.
