Teaching

Professor teaching philosophy of law, human rights and legal theory to undergraduates and postgraduates at the Faculty of Law, University of Zaragoza; also teaching on the Masters Programme of the European Academy of Legal Philosophy at the University of Saint Louis and the Katholieke Universiteit, Brussels

Legal adviser

Drafted the Law on Equality between Women and Men (Ley Orgánica 3/2007, de igualdad entre mujeres y hombres), which entered into force in March 2007.

Drafted the Spanish Strategies for Co-operation on Development (2001), as the expert member on gender of the Council of Co-operation on Development.

Drafted the Report of the European Parliament on the consequences of globalisation for women immigrants from the Mediterranean Countries, 2001.

Member of the think tank on values “Innobasque” (concerning the Basque region), which published the Green Paper Hacia una Sociedad Vasca 2030 basada en valores Innovadores, (Towards a Basque society in 2030 based on innovative values).

Human Rights Prize

Awarded the human rights prize “Luis Portero” in 2008 by the Royal Academy of Jurisprudence and Legislation of Granada for the research work on “Cultural Pluralism Law and Cultural Diversity in Spain”, published by IUSTEL, Madrid, 2009.

International work

Participated as an academic expert in numerous conferences organised by the United Nations and the European Union, in particular concerning gender equality, such as, among others: the IV World Conference on Equality of Women (Beijing, March 1995); the World Conference Habitat II - The Right to Housing (Istanbul, June 1996); and the European Parliament’s Committee on Women’s Rights and Equal Opportunities public hearing on “Women and Fundamentalism” (Brussels, January 2000).
