 LJUBLJANA: Seminar on European cooperation in civil
matters
Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Slovenia organises a
Seminar on European cooperation in civil matters. The Council of
Europe and the European Commission will be present at this main
event of the 2010 Edition of the European Day of civil Justice,
which will take place in Ljubljana on 25 October 2010.
This day will be punctuated by speeches from distinguished
persons from the Council of Europe, the European Commission, the
Court of Justice of the European Union, European faculties of
law and ministries of justice.
At this occasion, the European Crystal Scales of Justice Prize
rewarding innovating projects and practices in the field of
court organisation and implementation of judicial procedures
conducted in European juridications will be awarded, for the 5th
consecutive year. A press conference will be organised at this
occasion.
The seminar and the award ceremony will take place in
Hotel Lev (city centre of Ljubljana).

MARIBOR:
Access to civil justice in Slovenia
The University of Law of Maribor in Slovenia organises,
on 23 and 24 September 2010 respectively, two
conferences presented by Prof. Dr. Vesna Rijavec, on the
following themes:
- 23 September "Non-Contentious Procedures in Property
and Housing Matters", interpretation en Slovenian,
Croatian, Serbian and German,
- 24 September "Simplification of Debt Collection in the
European Union", interpretation en Slovenian, Germand
and English.
The purpose of the conference is to introduce lawyers to
European Civil Procedure Law and to contribute to their
lifelong learning education. The following topics will
be discussed: cross-borer enforcement of debts, use of
electronic tools in the context of justice and on the
basis of exchange of best practices.
