Workshop on Anti-discrimination

On 17-18 December, the Council of Europe is organising a thematic workshop on “Anti-discrimination under the European Convention on Human Rights: Protection against Discrimination on the Grounds of Religion, Expression and Assembly”. The workshop will start at 9:30am at the hotel Beaumonde Garden.

Participants of the workshop will include lawyers, human rights defenders and law students, who are selected on the basis of their CVs and motivation letters. The participants will be given the possibility to listen to the national and international human rights experts, namely, Philip Leach, Marek Nowicki and Nana Mcvhedlidze and discuss with them non-discrimination aspects in relation to the following freedoms: religion, expression and assembly.

The activity takes place in the framework of the European Union and Council of Europe Joint Programme “Strengthening the capacity of lawyers and human rights defenders for domestic application of the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR) and of the Revised European Social Charter (RESC)”.
