Working group meeting to draft prison health care training programmes |
||||
On 28-29 April 2012, a two-day working group meeting will
take place at Lopota Lake Resort to draft training programmes for (1) medical
staff working in prisons on Georgian legislation and European standards on
prison health care and (2) non-medical staff on the right to health of
prisoners. Representatives of the medical and penitentiary departments and the
Penitentiary and Probation Training Centre of the Ministry of Corrections and
Legal Assistance will participate in the meeting and will be assisted by two
international experts of the Council of Europe. On the basis of the training
programmes developed by the working group a training-of-trainers (ToT) seminar
will be conducted at the end of May 2012, followed by a pilot training of chief
doctors of prison medical units in June 2012. This activity takes place in the
framework of Denmark’s Georgia Programme 2010-2013 “Promotion of Judicial
Reform, Human and Minority Rights”.
