Stakeholders' Platform

 

The Stakeholders’ Platform of the Council of Europe is a body that brings together representatives of the organs and bodies of the Council of Europe in order to create synergies and increase the quality of governance at the local level.

It comprises representatives of the Committee of Ministers, the Parliamentary Assembly, the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities, the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities, the European Committee on Democracy and Governance (CDDG) and the Conference of INGOs of the Council of Europe. The Commissioner for Human Rights is an observer to the Platform.

The Platform mission is to follow and give guidance regarding the implementation of the Strategy and to this end it:

provides support to national and regional governments and local government associations when developing initiatives and programmes of action aiming to implement the Strategy;

promotes and further develops the Label ELoGE in the light of the experience of those who test it;

approves arrangements for awarding the Label ELoGE to local authorities and provide the necessary technical assistance to member States for developing such arrangements at the national level.
