Achievements: Local Finance and Public Services
 
 
 

The CDLR launched a series of activities concerning local and regional finance, starting with a report on Local finance in Europe which was presented to the Conference of European ministers responsible for local government meeting in Lisbon in 1996. These activites led to the adoption and publication of a series of reports (see resources in local and regional democracy).
 
  The main conclusions and guidelines appearing in these reports were consolidated into two recommendations of the Committee of Ministers to member states (see resources in local and regional democracy).
