Information Offices

The Council of Europe Information Offices (IOCE) are established as institutions of the Council of Europe and governed by the rules set out by the Committee of Ministers’ Résolutions (99)9 and (2006)20.

Their tasks are to promote and disseminate information on the Council of Europe’s standards, principles and activities; to provide information and training on the European Convention on Human Rights and to facilitate the Council of Europe presence and activities in the host country.

Particular emphasis is given to providing information and to publishing and disseminating the CoE documents in the national languages, including up-to-date websites, to allow an increasingly wide public access to key CoE information in their language

Through the Information Offices the general public is made aware of the Council of Europe priority issues, in particular its campaigns and important events
